Services – Go it Alone Scheme

The Go It Alone scheme enables charities and other organisations to hire DANSA vehicles when they are not used for other Community Transport services.  Vehicles will be available most evenings and weekends and there will also be some availability during the day time.  Organisations wishing to use this service will hire the vehicle at a low cost rate and will have their own staff member or volunteer to drive the vehicle.

Prior to using the vehicles through the Go It Alone Scheme, your nominated driver(s) will have to undergo MiDAS Training.  This training is certificated so that they have achieved the minimum standard of safe driving of minibuses.  This certificate then lasts four years before it has to be renewed.  There is no limit to the number of drivers who you wish to undergo the training but there is a nominal cost for each person trained.  DANSA is able to arrange the training for you.

We will endeavour to make a vehicle available to you although it is advised that you book in advance due to restricted availability, particularly between 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday.

To use the service the first thing you must do is register your organisation with us and become a member.  To request a registration form please go to the Contact Us page where you can send an e-mail with your details. We will then send you a form in the post as soon as possible.

Alternately you can download an individual membership form by accessing the Register With Us page on this site and return it to us with the registration fee.
